由台北市電腦公會主辦的「台北國際電玩展 Taipei Game Show」,自2003年起至今,已成為海內外數十萬玩家每年必到的亞洲遊戲盛會。2024年台北國際電玩展首度於南港展覽館1館使用雙層樓展區盛大舉行,而我們也在展內的獨立遊戲專區內設置了「獨立遊戲開發獎勵計畫」館,展示113年獨立遊戲開發獎勵暨產品化加值計畫的獲獎團隊作品。
在獨立遊戲區內有來自世界各地的獨立遊戲開發者,帶來各具創意的作品,而我們也很好奇開發者們的參展心得,因此寫信詢問並獲得同意分享出來:

#1 請問這次為什麼會想要來參加台北電玩展?是第一次參加嗎?這次參加的整體感覺如何,尤其是在獨立遊戲區這一區塊?
這是我們第一次參加台北遊電玩展,也是我們首次以參展商身分參與電玩展。我們參加的動機來自於對亞洲獨立遊戲的熱情,特別是在台灣。而擁有位於新加坡的發行商,更使得TGS 成為我們在加強地區存在感的理想場合。我們發現遊戲獨立專區是一個對開發者和玩家都非常友好的環境,這裡的氛圍令人鼓舞,且讓我們能夠獲得寶貴的反饋意見,以更精進我們的遊戲。

關於 Cranky Alien Games

Thank you for reaching out and for your kind words about our booth and Azura’s Crystals. We truly appreciate the opportunity to share our experience. Below are our answers to your questions, along with a brief introduction to Cranky Alien and our game.
Motivation for Participating in Taipei Game Show & Overall Experience
This was our very first time attending Taipei Game Show and our first-ever game show as an exhibitor. We were motivated to participate because we love the passion and enthusiasm for indie gaming across Asia—especially in Taiwan. Having a publisher based in Singapore also made TGS a perfect venue for us to strengthen our presence in the region. We found Indie House to be a welcoming environment for both developers and players. The energy there was inspiring, and it allowed us to gather invaluable feedback to refine our game.
Marketing Strategies at Our Booth
Engagement & Demos: We set up two laptops to give players hands-on time with Azura’s Crystals. This direct engagement proved effective in sparking conversations and letting people experience our core gameplay firsthand.
Visual Appeal & Branding: We emphasized our art style and lore through stickers, pins, magnets, and a monitor playing short video loops. These visuals drew attendees in and left them with a memorable impression of the game.
These strategies contributed significantly to generating interest, and we received positive responses about the game.
Future Exhibitions & Global Connections
We are definitely interested in participating in future events, both in Asia and beyond. As part of our broader strategy—and with our publisher located in Singapore—our focus is on deepening connections within the Asian gaming community. We also value opportunities to meet developers from around the world, exchange insights, and explore collaborative possibilities. Introduction to Cranky Alien & Azura’s Crystals
I started Cranky Alien as a solo developer in 2022. My publisher showcased my very first game, Swoon! Earth Escape, at TGS in 2023.
Today, we are a team of eight, and we continue collaborating with our Asian publisher to bring unique gaming experiences each year. Our team combines diverse talents—ranging from art design to gameplay development.
Azura’s Crystals is our latest project: an action-adventure game where players explore a fantasy world filled with magical crystals, RPG elements, dynamic combat, ally summoning, and immersive storytelling.
